      Job summary

      We have a excellent opportunity for a Band 3 health care support worker to join our team.

      We are looking for a motivated, ethusiastic, individual, who can work well within a multi disaplinary team and support the registrant to deliver a high standard of patient focused care at the minor injury unit in Llandrindod Wells Hospital.

      This busy unit attendes to local residents and seasonal visitors, and is staffed by desinated MIU nurses.

      The unit is accesed by a variety of patients with different injuries.

      Informal visit or enquires are encouraged prior to the closing date.

      Main duties of the job

      To assist nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in the assessment process by contributing to developing a picture of patients' needs.To assist in the delivery of care as identified in the patient's care plan. At alltimes reporting observations on progress or deterioration to the Nurse inCharge/Clinical Lead.To develop skills and experience at carrying out delegated duties in respect ofthe physical and psychological needs of the patient not always under thesupervision of the Registered Nurse in charge.To respect the patient/carers and representatives being sensitive at all times totheir views and wishes. Following appropriate WARRN risk assessments by a qualified nurse, work with the patient and carers to minimize identified risk.To maintain the dignity of the patient at all times and provide the maximumamount of privacy and respect.To respect confidential information obtained in the course of one's dutiesalways referring to the Nurse in Charge/Clinical Lead who will facilitatenecessary information sharing.The post holder under the direction of a qualified nurse, inother setting to undertake Behavioural observation / monitoring and report back to the qualified staff member following all care planningdocumentation.To record specific patient observations as delegated by the qualified nurse immediately reporting any changes.To support patients with long term conditions by undertaking screeningactivities as delegated by the Clinical Lead.
