      In partnership with the Ministry of Health, Island Health is offering a life changing career and learning opportunity to become a registered Health Care Aide in your own community. The Health Career Access Program (HCAP) offers employment as a Health Care Support Worker while you attend post-secondary and receive training to become a Health Care Aide. While in HCAP participants will receive financial support for training, tuition, textbooks, and more.

We are the largest employer on Vancouver Island with approximately 24,500 employees, 1,900 Physician partners and 6,500 volunteers that provide health services to the 765,000 residents of Vancouver Island and adjacent coastal communities.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      Education, Training And Experience

      To join the Health Career Access program (HCAP), you will have:

      • Education Training and Experience
      • Grade 10, including successful completion of English 10 or equivalency
      • Must be able to meet college entrance requirements
      • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and personal vehicle
