      Saints Foundation is the charity of Southampton Football Club. We support people in need throughout Southampton, providing life-changing opportunities to help our city and it’s communities thrive.

      What will you be doing?

      We have an exciting new job opportunity to work with Saints Foundation as an apprentice. This will allow you to get practical paid experience in a working environment, whilst also studying towards a Community Sport and Health Officer Level 3 and accredited Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification.

      You will be carrying out responsibilities for Saints Foundation Health projects, to include Senior Saints, Falls recovery, Active Through Football, Saints By your side and new project opportunities in this pillar of work.

      The apprentice will work closely with the Projects Team to support events and you will measure and evaluate the impact of our work, including supporting with participant Voice sessions.

      All apprenticeship work will be completed with support of the education provider and your line manager at Saints Foundation.

      The Apprenticeship

      You’ll gain a qualification in Community Sport and Health Officer Level 3 and Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification.

      This apprenticeship will last for 18 months.

      The apprenticeship will cover:

      • Preparation, planning and delivery of sport and active lifestyles for target communities.

      • Use local insight to market and attract high priority groups into existing leisure, parks and sport infrastructure.

      • Communication techniques in order to give/ receive information accurately and in a timely positive manner.

      • Understand funding applications to enable new, different or more opportunities to take place in sport and physical activity.

      • Manage and adapt personal behaviours to ensue provisions are inclusive, customer focused and accessible.

      You will also complete a CIMSPA Accredited Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification. This will include:

      • Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise

      • Health, Safety and Welfare in a Fitness Environment

      • Principles of Exercise Fitness and Health

      • Know How to Support Clients Who Take Part in Exercise and Physical Activity

      • Planning Gym-Based Exercise

      • Instructing Gym-Based Exercise

      If you are without a doubt a people person who loves building relationships and being a positive influence on those around you, we want to hear from you.

      Person Specification:

      • Have an interest in physical activity and community work.

      • A strong interest in developing and learning, particularly in the health and wellbeing sector.

      • To be able to communicate well with colleagues and participants, especially from diverse backgrounds.

      • GCSE’s Grades A* - D (or equivalent) in English, Maths and ICT, or the ability to achieve a level 2 functional skills by the end of the apprenticeship.

      • Have some, but not extensive, experience of working in the Southampton community.
