      As a Health Information Scientist at Ontada, you will design information systems that power analytics and data science, guiding the delivery of precise cancer care.

      • Organize data across contexts to identify opportunities for improvement.
      • Own the conceptual and logical model for disparate forms of data.
      • Lead the marriage of operational, clinical, laboratory and other data structures.
      • Advocate for data quality and completeness across data formats
      • Produce data model and implementation policy documentation.
      • Design a data model that marries genomic, operational, and traditional clinical data.
      • Design and implementing data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources using Azure Databricks
      • Develop scalable and re-usable frameworks for ingesting of data sets.
      • Integrate the end-to-end data pipeline - to take data from source systems to target data repositories ensuring the quality and consistency of data is maintained at all times.
      • Work with other members of the project team to support delivery of additional project components (API interfaces, Search)
      • Evaluate the performance and applicability of multiple tools against customer requirements.

      Minimum Requirement:

      • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience

      Critical Skills:

      • 2+ years experience in clinical informatics, bioinformatics, clinical data science, or clinical data engineering
      • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
      • Proficiency with data management systems, relational or otherwise (SQL / NoSQL)
      • Solid experience working with at least one interoperability standard (e.g., FHIR, HL7v2, OHDSI OMOP)
      • Strong understanding of the role of clinical controlled vocabularies like RxNorm, SNOMED, LOINC, etc. in clinical information systems

      Additional Skills:

      • Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience designing, developing, deploying and/or supporting data pipelines, preferably in Databricks.
      • Expertise in designing and deploying data applications on cloud solutions.
      • Proficient in programming languages like Pyspark and Python
      • Good understanding of SQL, T-SQL and/or PL/SQL
      • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills particularly those that apply to a big data environment.
      • Designing and implementing ETL processes
      • Implementing effective metrics and ETL monitoring
      • Preprocessing of structured and unstructured data

      As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

      Our Base Pay Range for this position

      $106,400 - $177,400
