  Who you are:

  As a Health Information Tech for Catholic Medical Center (CMC), you are a meticulous and detail-oriented individual, driven by a passion for maintaining the highest standards of patient care. As an integral part of our team, you'll play a key role in organizing, distributing, and tracking patient information within our cutting-edge Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

  This is a fully benefitted, 40 hour a week position, Monday-Friday.

  What you'll do:

  · Navigate multiple hospital computer systems to review patient services and obtain crucial information.

  · Engage with referring physicians and primary care providers to request patient records for cardiology appointments.

  · Review and research patient information, ensuring accurate preparation of charts for upcoming appointments.

  · Safeguard patient confidentiality by scanning and indexing protected health information (PHI) into the EMR.

  · Handle phone calls, process internal requests, and manage mail efficiently for seamless record-keeping.

  · Recognize and decipher cardiology diagnoses, ensuring precise preparation of patient charts.

  · Scan and index PHI into EMR while maintaining the utmost confidentiality.

  · Answer phones, process internal requests, and contribute to the smooth workflow of the medical records team.

  · Duplicate and mail records of patients transferring out of the practice, adhering to established procedures.

  · Assist with the release of medical information, calculating fees, and creating invoices as needed.

  · Stay current with The Joint Commission standards, HIPAA requirements, and federal/state statutes.

  · Interact professionally with co-workers, management, and patients to maintain a positive work environment.

  What you’ll bring:

  · High School diploma or equivalent.

  · One to two years of experience in an office setting preferred.
