Participate in department and college curriculum development.
Deliver online instruction in a variety of HIT courses such as health information records, coding, reimbursement, human diseases, and pharmacology.
Conduct classroom assessment and evaluation activities.
Participate in committee assignments and college-wide initiatives.
Participate in department accreditation and review.
Engage in professional development activities.
Advocate on behalf of students, program and college.
Associate's degree in health information technology.
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in health information technology.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
Experience in or demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and equity-focused working and learning environment.
Teaching experience at the community/technical college level or demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision, and values of community and technical colleges.
Evidence of online education learning strategies.
Experience in assessment of student learning that includes a variety of summative and formative strategies.
Evidence of active and continuous professional development.
Exceptional team player who is willing to devote time to students and the department.
Familiarity with CAHIIM and accrediting process.

Rochester Community and Technical College is accepting applications for an Unlimited, Full-time, Health Information Technology Instructor. This position will become unlimited upon completion of the required probationary period.
A faculty member’s work assignment includes a number of diverse professional responsibilities. Classroom teaching and other contacts with students form the core of the faculty work assignment. Additionally, professional development and service to the college are the other core components of a faculty member’s work assignment. A faculty member will plan to engage in such activities as: student advising, course evaluation, classroom preparation, the evaluation of student performance, committee assignments, classroom research and community service as part of overall work assignment.

Salary
Salary is dependent on education and experience, in accordance with the Minnesota State College Faculty [MSCF] bargaining agreement (available on the Minnesota State website or by clicking here). The starting range for this position is $43,067 - $94,542. Official transcripts and job verification required if hired. The position also includes excellent fringe benefits.
