      What will you do?

      • Under the direction of the Residential Resources Deputy Director, helps plan, direct, organize, & manage all aspects of the implementation and ongoing operation of the electronic health record (EHR) software; assists the Deputy Director in defining & formulation of department goals & objectives; Facilitates the designs of appropriate electronic health care services; Responsible for the coordination and tracking of all aspects of the electronic system implementation.

      • Lead liaison with Information Technology (IT), all pertinent vendors and community partners; Advises and apprises the Deputy Director of electronic conversion goals & objectives for the budget to keep in line with overall goals & objectives; monitor contracts pertaining to electronic conversions; network with outside entities to insure compatibility of electronic systems.

      • Monitors implementation and ongoing operation of electronic health record system, providing oversight & guidance as needed; Provides direction & consultation regarding health care quality assurance to departmental staff; Helps plan, develop, organize, & coordinate developmental center wide medical quality assurance projects relating to electronic system implementation; ensures standardization of policies for all DCs related to nursing and medical practices; Prepares periodic status reports on electronic implementation; Identifies problems & plans of action to improve the quality of services: provides training on systems.

      • Provides statewide risk management oversight for all developmental centers concerning electronic implementation; Conducts onsite inspections & periodic comprehensive audits of developmental center healthcare operations to ensure compliance with medical standards, policies, procedures, & protocols & applicable federal & state regulations; consults with developmental center administrative staff & produces reports identifying compliance status & recommendations; Monitors progress toward such compliance & provides status reports to the Residential Resources Deputy Director & developmental center administrative staff; Provides guidance on the electronic operation of Health Services & related policy & procedure issues;. Identifies & reports institutional needs for additional resources &/or other assistance.

      • Assists in the development of health care policies & protocols; Assists in the implementation of department-wide healthcare initiatives; Assists in the identification of staff training issues & in the development & provision of such training; Must conduct themselves professionally, & in a law-abiding manner, at all times & in accordance with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Standards of Employee Conduct. Acts on behalf of & represents the Residential Resources on committees, meetings, etc. as it pertains to the DC health care services electronic implementation.

      **This position is telework eligible under the agency's current telework agreement.**

      !*!Completion of graduate core program in field of public health, health administration, preventive medicine, social work, nursing or other health-related field or public policy & management/public administration or business administration; 3 yrs. exp. in planning & administering health program(s). -Or 6 yrs. exp. in planning & administering health program(s). -Or 12 mos. exp. as Health Planning Administrator 3, 65247. -Or 2 yrs. exp. as Health Planning Administrator 2, 65246. Note: applicants for any bureau chief position in Ohio Department of Health must satisfy qualifications cited in Chapter 37 of Administrative Code for particular bureau for which application is being made. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.Knowledge of health-related field or management; program planning & evaluation; health policy development; epidemiology; health information systems & data collection; health care organization & health care systems delivery; strategic planning; supervisory principles/techniques; employee training & development; budget planning & fiscal control; federal & state laws & rules governing administration of assigned program*; technical writing; effective oral communication, management consulting; public relations. Ability to develop complex reports & position papers; deal with large number of variables & determine specific course of action; prepare & deliver speeches before non-technical audiences; interpret extensive variety of material in books, journals & manuals; handle sensitive inquiries from & contacts with officials, providers & general public; establish friendly atmosphere as bureau/assistant division or office chief.!*!

      Hourly wage will be paid at step 1, unless otherwise specified by collective bargaining agreement or rules outlined in the ORC/OAC.

      UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

      Requires travel throughout State of Ohio & may require overnight stay. Must be willing & able to secure a Driver License OR supply your own transportation.
