      About the Opportunity


      Reporting to the Health Services Director, Heart Health Program, the Health Services Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of services and daily operations of people-centered Cardiology programs in the Heart Health Program within Nova Scotia Health.


      Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Providing leadership and direction for 6.2 (Cardiology Unit) staff to ensure the goals and objectives are continually met
      • Promoting and emphasizing people-centred care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team
      • Developing, implementing and maintaining an active human resource plan including recruitment, selection, interviewing and hiring
      • Preparing and analyzing all relevant financial and clinical data, reports trends and identifies where corrective action is required for budget variances, implements changes as required and evaluates the effectiveness of the changes
      • Establishing and maintaining creative and efficient communication processes across clinical teams, geographically different sites, other disciplines, and other stakeholders within Nova Scotia Health as required
      • Managing process improvements for quality patient care and enhancing capacity
      • Representing her/his discipline or service/program by active and effective participation in meetings and on committees

      About You


      We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

      • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
      • Master's degree an asset
      • Current, or eligible for, registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
      • Five to seven years of relevant clinical experience
      • Previous leadership/management experience an asset
      • Experience and expertise in process planning and redesign work
      • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues and trends impacting the publicly funded health care system, particularly those affecting Heart Health Care in NS, nationally and internationally
      • Requires a high level of sound judgment, initiative, and self-direction
      • Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision making, motivation, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and change management knowledge
      • Proven and highly developed leadership skills including vision, self-awareness, relationship and team building skills, and communication skills
      • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

      Hours

      Permanent Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

      Compensation and Incentives


      $43.91 - $58.34 Hourly
