      Job Description Summary:

      Uses internal and external data to provide information and analytic findings to BlueKC about health outcomes and healthcare utilization trends at the program, network, and product levels among others. Independently investigates and discovers areas of opportunity for health improvement programs, and evaluates program effectiveness. Facilitates analysis and discussion about findings, collaborating with teams of cross functional experts of clinicians and analysts with various points of expertise.

      Job Description

      • Develops and writes moderately complex executive summaries for related to analytic findings and opportunities for program improvements and closure of member gaps in care.
      • Identifies health care cost and utilization drivers related to the health care status and health risks of members with BlueKC plans.
      • Investigates and mines data to discover areas of opportunity for improving health outcomes & closing member gaps in care. Works with cross-functional team members to assist in developing responses and action plans.
      • Assists the team to develop interventions to improve HEDIS rates, and streamlining work flows This includes reporting & analysis to identify gaps, creation of letters, obtaining approval thru our member communication &/or provider communication processes, data merges onto provider letterhead, obtaining approval of physicians’ offices & coordinating distribution after final approval.
      • Develops and writes moderately complex reports and analysis from Blue KC systems, Microsoft Access, and Power BI for management and staff related to Clinical Outcomes & Quality Management initiatives.
      • Able to understand business and investigate analytic requests from stakeholder to determine what data is needed for a project and presentation of the analysis to the group.
      • Creation of provider scorecards on a quarterly basis. This information is utilized to determine performance-based incentive payment potential for PCMH providers as well as to provide actionable data to both PCMH & Non-PCMH providers wishing to close their patient’s gaps in care.
      • Uses publicly reported databases to update data for the Hospital Quality Incentive Program and other programs as needed.
      • Ability to assist outside stakeholders to facilitate mapping ETL process of inbound files for utilization of flat files.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, analytics, business administration or other relevant academic field;
      • 3 years' analytics experience, utilizing Microsoft Office in report creation, specifically excelling in the use of Microsoft SQL Server, Access, Excel or other relevant data mining systems.
      • 3 years' analytics experience, including a working experience in analysis of results of projects to improve business performance or quality of health care or service
      • Thorough experience applying statistical concepts, creating reports, as well as maintaining and supplying analytics
      • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the structures, processes, and operations of client departments for whom project work is performed
      • Sensitivity to clients’ needs and able to develop warm client relationships

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, analytics, business administration or other relevant academic field
      • 5 years' advanced analytics experience in a health care environment, including experience in analysis of results of projects to improve business performance or quality of health care or service
      • Experience in Statistical Programming languages such as R Studio and/or Python
      • Five (5) years of experience using and utilizing Microsoft Office, specifically Access and Excel
      • IT experience
      • Tableau and/or Power BI, and/or other dashboard experience.
