Job summary
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is a major provider of integrated hospital and community services for people living in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding area. This includes Thame (Oxfordshire), Tring (Hertfordshire) and Leighton Buzzard (Bedfordshire). We provide care to over half a million patients every year. We have over 6,000 highly trained clinical staff. This includes doctors, nurses, midwives, health visitors, therapists, and healthcare scientists.
Amersham Hospital is one of several Community Hospitals within the Trust. We have three inpatient areas: Chartridge Ward, Waterside Unit, and Buckinghamshire Neuro Rehabilitation Unit.
We are looking to appoint a new Healthcare Assistants to join our team on Waterside Unit and Chartridge Ward.
We are looking for enthusiastic & caring individuals, with excellent communication skills.
We require you to have a good standard of English and numeracy skills, and a passion for looking after older people.

Main duties of the job
Waterside Unit is a 21 bedded ward within the Integrate Elderly Care Division. We care for individuals who require inpatient rehabilitation prior to discharge into the community. Our patients often have multiple health needs & chronic conditions.
Chartridge Ward is a 22 bedded ward within the Integrated Elderly Care Division. We care for individuals who are medically optimised for discharge, usually following a period of time in acute care, but who require nursing support & reablement until the appropriate care can be put into place in the community. This could be in the form of a Package of Care in the patients own home, or a placement in a Nursing or Residential Home. Our patients often have multiple health needs & chronic conditions.
You will need to have excellent communication and inter-personal skills, the ability to work both within a team and independently, and the ability to offer a high level of nursing care. Training and clinical supervision opportunities are available to the successful candidates.
