Job summary
This is a temporary Healthcare Assistant role at Elysium Healthcare's Asher House facility in Walton on the Naze. The role involves providing care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and autism, using your skills and knowledge to help them on their recovery pathway. It's a challenging but rewarding environment, with a focus on delivering great healthcare and making a positive difference in people's lives.
Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll be part of an inclusive and supportive team, working together to provide high-quality care to service users. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors and adapting care accordingly, updating patient records, and assisting with personal hygiene. A positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance are important in this role, as you'll be working in a challenging environment at times. However, the role is highly rewarding, as you'll see the positive impact you have on the lives of the people you support.

What you will be doing
You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with learning disabilities and autism conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.
Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.
It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.
The shift pattern is 12.5 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.
Where you will be working
Location: Asher House, Third Avenue, Walton On The Naze, CO14 8JU Asher House consists of six bespoke, single-person apartments within a registered care setting with 24-hour nursing support. It provides a robust environment and high-intensity care model which is designed to support people who have a Learning Disability & Autism with highly complex needs and behaviours. This includes service users who may be stepping down from the hospital or whose community placements have broken down.
