Job summary
Montague Medical Practice, in Goole, East Yorkshire, is seeking a compassionate and proactive Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support the delivery of high-quality patient care within our busy GP surgery.Working under the direct supervision of the senior practice nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care
Main duties of the job
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
ECG recording
Phlebotomy
Management of wound care
Working under a PSD to deliver vaccinations such as B12, Pneumo, Shingles, Flu
Management of Long Term Conditions
Chaperoning duties
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being

Montague Medical Practice provides services to a registered population of approximately 8500 patients, in the town of Goole and surrounding areas. The practice is managed by SSP Health, the biggest provider of GP services in the North, we are proud to have over 40 practices all rated as Outstanding or Good and we are committed to continually improving the quality of patient services whilst meeting SSP Healths contractual obligations.
