- Will be expected to meet the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust
- Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) training
- I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer
- Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
- Experience of working in a care environment
- Experience working with working age adults with acute mental health needs
- Role modelling good behaviour to support others and the maintenance of a positive culture
- A positive attitude and able to act on feedback
- Ability to praise and be supportive to others
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats
- Treat patients with respect and dignity
- Ensure that own actions support equality, diversity, rights and quality
- Ability to follow a clear instruction and feed back to senior staff.
- Good knowledge of clinical and environmental hygiene guidelines and standards

Job summary
Mortimer Ward is a 21 bed admission ward for adults predominantly aged 18 to 65 with acute mental illness. Our patients often have complex needs and the successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for a holistic approach to meeting those care needs. We work closely with allied health professionals within the Unit and our aim is to maximise the health and wellbeing of the patients in our care, supporting them and their families. The Trust and the ward has a number of initiatives focusing on clinical leadership, operational management and strategic planning which will offer opportunities for professional development. The Unit is currently undergoing extensive environmental redevelopment works which will enhance the patient experience, ward safety and therapeutic facilitation.
We are looking to appoint motivated and dynamic individuals to join our Multi-disciplinary team. Part of your role is to ensure patient care is of the highest standards supporting the Nursing and Medical team, acting as a role model at all times and using your initiative to maintain quality and safety.
