      Job summary

      Newport Pagnell Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for a permanent healthcare assistant to join the practice, to support the nursing team. The hours for this role can be flexible so please apply to discuss.

      Working under the direct supervision of the lead nurse, and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

      The role will offer you the opportunity to build on your experience, skills and competence, requiring you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

      Main duties of the job

      • Venepuncture and phlebotomy checks.
      • New patient health checks.
      • Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms.
      • Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations.
      • Providing valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families and carers.
