Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant for our North West London diagnostic services which cover Harrow, Willesden and Wembley. Successful applicants will work across one site however flexibility is required. To succeed you must have excellent communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to delivering first class diagnostic services and patient care. The post holder will work closely with Sonographers, supporting them with patients during their clinics. Training is provided and further career development opportunities throughout the company.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring the smooth running of clinics
Assisting in the care and comfort of patients
Assisting Sonographers during examinations
Ensuring the clinical room is prepared prior to the start of clinical sessions
Using the patient information systems (Soliton/PACS)
To monitor and ensure sufficient stock levels are consistently maintained in a designated clinic.
To order supplies when required
Ensuring and maintaining a patient centred and quality focused approach to all aspects of work
Ensure patients have access to a chaperone at all times
Uphold Healthshares professional standards policy
Uphold data protection and patient confidentiality at all times
Requirements:
Good communication skills
Basic computer skills
Flexible in approach to work
Ability to be tactful and diplomatic
Good organisational skills
Previous experience within a healthcare environment is desirable

Accountable To: Senior Operations Manager
Job Purpose:
The Health Care Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the sonographer in clinic and undertake tasks and duties delegated by the operational support/manager.
Will work collaboratively with the diagnostics multi-disciplinary team to maintain a high standard of care under the direction of the operational support, following the Company's policies and procedures at all times.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring the smooth running of clinics
Assisting in the care and comfort of patients
Assisting Sonographers during examinations
Ensuring the clinical room is prepared prior to the start of clinical sessions
Using the patient information systems (Soliton/PACS)
Ensuring and maintaining a patient centred and quality focused approach to all aspects of work
Ensure patients have access to a chaperone at all times
Uphold Healthshares professional standards policy
Uphold data protection and patient confidentiality at all times
Maintain a high standard of care
Following appropriate training, to ensure the cleanliness of any equipment used
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, the multi-disciplinary team and significant others
Communicate with patients, clients and relatives on emotional and sensitive issues
Act as the patient's advocate
Promptly deal with equipment failure in accordance with Healthshares procedure
Ensure Healthshares policies are adhered to by all staff and report as necessary
Safeguard the health and welfare of patients and staff in all circumstances
Comply with the Healthshare complaints procedure
Promptly report all incidents or accidents involving patients or staff and take appropriate action according to Healthshares policy
Ensure stock items are ordered and available in a designated clinic room and assist with the correct management of stock control.
Attend and participate in monthly team meetings as required.

Further develop knowledge and skills by undertaking appropriate training and courses of study
