      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our CQC rated 'Outstanding' Trust, within our Urgent Care Service.

      Based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, you will be working in a passionate out of hours multi-disciplinary team made up of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants

      As a Healthcare Assistant, you will welcome and book in patients arriving at the Primary Care Centre and carry out basic observations e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and urinalysis.

      This post is Weekend work on Saturday and Sundays only.

      Free parking is available on-site for our staff.

      Main duties of the job

      • Welcome patients to the Primary Care Centre in a courteous and helpful manner trying to allay fears and anxieties that they may have.
      • Book patients onto the clinical database collecting all relevant information in timely and accurate manner
      • Be able to demonstrate independent working while working in a constantly changing environment and without direct supervision but being able to ask the team for advice when required.
      • Undertaking appropriate clinical observations/vital signs
      • Carry out administrative duties for the service as directed

      • Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment
      • Can work under pressure and remain calm
      • Excellent communication skills
