      The Harmony Healthcare Long Island, formerly known as (Long Island Federally Qualified Health Center or LIFQHC) is a non-profit healthcare organization with 7 health centers, providing primary care and preventative medicine in the following locations in Nassau County: Roosevelt, Elmont, Hempstead, Freeport, Oceanside, and New Cassel/Westbury. In addition, the Harmony Healthcare Long Island has 3 school-based health centers, WIC offices (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) in 3 locations, and a Health Home Care Coordination program. As federally qualified health centers, we serve the individuals in our communities, providing enhanced services, expanded hours and reduced prescription pricing, while raising the level of care. We treat patients regardless of income, residency or immigration status.

      JOB TITLE: Healthcare Informatics and EMR Specialist

      REPORTS TO:

      The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of this position.

      POSITION SUMMARY:

      The EMR Administrator's main role is to successfully carry out the full implementation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR), has expertise in the eClinicalWorks system, including planning, design, training, interfacing, and maintenance.

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Effectively design and carry out implementation of EHR training programs and interfacing initiatives.
      • Provides direct training to all employees for the proper use of the electronic medical record.
      • Creates educational materials regarding EMR use for staff reference
      • Works according to timeline and expectations of all active EMR projects
      • Provide recommendations for short-term and long-term plans for EMR related enhancements
      • Lead end-user focus groups to improve EHR functionality and utilization.
      • Perform system upgrades, enhancements, and customizations as needed
      • Analyze vendor databases to ensure system compatibility with the EHR
      • Analyze and provide feedback on end-user workflows and provide recommendations for areas of improvement
      • May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to the job responsibilities.
      • Collaborate with external entities and vendors regarding interface implementation, trouble shooting, and enhancements
      • Troubleshoot and resolve EMR related help ticket requests

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • 3 plus years of experience in eCW Application
      • eCW Train the Trainer Certification preferred
      • Must have extensive experience with SQL and back end coding/testing needs
      • Must have previous implementation and upgrading experience
      • Must have previous vendor interaction experience
      • Must have previous experience managing, planning and implementing complex IT projects
      • Strong technical and problem solving skills
      • Understanding of HIPAA compliance regulations and HITECH rules
      • Strong communication skills
      • Ability to work in small groups under tight project deadlines
      • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to effectively present information to clinical and business leaders within the organization
      • Experience with COGNOS preferred
      • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
      • You must have the ability and willingness to regularly travel, if working in Nassau or Suffolk Counties, a valid New York, driver's license and transportation.

      SALARY: $70,000-$80,000 annually
