      Billing Specialist (Fully Remote)

      SimiTree is looking for an outstanding Billing Specialist to join our Revenue Cycle Management team to assist with providing quality outsourcing engagements for our customers in the behavioral health industry. The Billing Specialist will obtain and process client billing data into the database, transmitting medical claims to insurance companies in a timely and accurate manner by performing the following duties.

      The Billing Specialist will report to the Billing Manager and is fully remote.

      To provide our clients with an opportunity to focus on core operations, SimiTree provides outsourcing services for Coding and OASIS reviews, Billing and Collections, and full Revenue Cycle services. SimiTree’s client base ranges from small, community-based agencies to publicly traded national chains. We have both the technical expertise and the real-world experience to implement seamless solutions that assist agencies in a rapidly changing operational and regulatory environment.

      Responsibilities
      • Enters new patient and payer data
      • Obtains billing data and census from clients and/or other departments
      • Submits accurate claims in a timely fashion
      • Reviews and troubleshoots errors
      • Audits all claims billed on a daily basis
      • Reports all errors made/claims corrected on a daily basis
      • Makes notes in system pertaining to claim corrections, deletions and mailed/faxed claims
      • Reports progress and issues to Supervisor
      • Performs other duties as assigned

      • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
      • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
      • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
      • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software; spreadsheet software; internet software and database software.
      • Associate's degree (A. A. / A. S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Salary range/ Benefits :

      $18.00 – $23.00 an hour


      The compensation scale listed is a general salary range and is not intended to represent the actual annual or hourly compensation rate for this role. An offer will be made to the selected candidate at the conclusion of the interview process based on their relevant experience and the responsibilities of the position. SimiTree offers a competitive compensation package including health, vision, and dental insurance, PTO, retirement plans (401K), holiday paid time off, life insurance.
