What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule medical appointments by coordinating with patients, providers, and facilities while following established procedures
- Utilize electronic medical record and scheduling software to effectively manage appointments, tests, and procedures
- Gather and document patient demographics, insurance information, and necessary authorizations during the registration process
- Provide pre and post-test instructions, appointment details, and directions to patients, ensuring clarity and understanding
- Build impactful relationships with patients and clinical colleagues through various communication channels to enhance patient experience
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service or related experience in a healthcare setting, such as medical office or hospital scheduling
- Ability to use technology to respond to customer inquiries effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain a positive attitude with customers and providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with accurate keyboarding abilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in an inbound call center or as a scheduler in a practice management environment
- Familiarity with medical terminology and payor contract terms and processes
- Additional related education and/or experience in a healthcare setting
