  We are seeking a Project Manager for Atkinson Construction, a heavy civil subsidiary of Clark Construction. The Project Manager is the principal company representative at project sites, overseeing multiple projects. They set the tone for safety culture, influence project outcomes, and serve as the primary contact with clients and the public. Responsibilities include selecting and mentoring staff, ensuring team efficiency, and completing projects safely, on time, and within budget.

  Responsibilities

  • Manage high-profile projects, planning, organizing, and controlling various elements.
  • Plan early to mitigate safety risks, address production and quality concerns, and incorporate stakeholder input.
  • Make timely, strategic decisions to keep projects on track.
  • Contribute to business development through estimating, proposals, and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Communicate clearly, support team members, and enforce deadlines.
  • Negotiate effectively to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Understand insurance requirements for Atkinson, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain stakeholder engagement and safety training.
  • Participate in project meetings and inspections.
  • Build strong relationships with personnel, clients, vendors, and community.
  • Prioritize tasks and ensure resource availability.
  • Provide accurate information and documentation promptly.
  • Investigate issues, propose solutions, and manage budgets.
  • Engage in self-development and produce quality construction products.
  • Track quantities, review invoices, and manage change orders.

  Qualifications

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in engineering and heavy civil highway construction projects ($30M to $250M+).
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High initiative, independence, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Reliable team player.

  Atkinson offers a comprehensive compensation package, including base salary, bonuses, and benefits such as health coverage, paid time off, retirement plans, and additional perks. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $190,000, depending on experience and location.
