Operate Dozer, Excavator, and Loader to manage waste and debris
Move and grade soil as needed to maintain site operations
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment
Provide assistance to customers and team members as required
Responsibly operate a company vehicle for parts running as needed, ensuring timely and safe delivery of materials.
Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and occasional rain.
The position involves physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
The environment may be dusty, noisy, and require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing protection, gloves, and safety boots.
There will be exposure to machinery and heavy equipment, so safety protocols and precautions are strictly followed.
2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Valid driver's license with clean record
Ability to work effectively in various outdoor conditions, including exposure to weather elements, physical labor, and a dynamic work environment.
Avenal Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Avenal, CA!
Schedule : Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with the possibility of working every other Saturday from 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM (overtime hours as needed).
Compensation : Starting pay is $22-$26 per hour, based on experience. The pay range for the job category is $25-27 per hour. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid vacation, and more.
