  Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator (PER DIEM)

  Job Description

  We are seeking skilled Bulldozer and Excavator Operators to join our team in performing mass grading on a new solar farm. The successful candidates will be responsible for land clearing, pad construction, and basin excavation. Experience with pipe or underground utilities is considered a plus.

  Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and articulated dump trucks.
  • Perform mass grading and land clearing tasks.
  • Build pads and excavate basins for solar farm construction.
  • Collaborate with site laborers to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear required PPE at all times.

  Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in operating excavators or bulldozers.
  • Proficiency in using articulated dump trucks.
  • Fine grading ability for dozer and excavator operations.
  • Safety awareness and knowledge of OSHA standards.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3rd party certifications for bulldozer/excavator or articulated haul truck.
  • Experience in solar farm construction is a plus.
  • Ability to work significant overtime, including weekends.
  • Reliability and punctuality are crucial.

  Work Environment

  The role involves working on multiple civil closeout sites in a new construction environment. Expect exposure to hot and humid summer conditions while working 50-hour weeks. The schedule is 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily with an hour break for lunch and short breaks in the morning and afternoon. Appropriate work attire and PPE, including hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, reflective vest, and gloves, are mandatory. Safety is paramount, with strict adherence required to avoid termination.

  This is a Contract position based out of Farnham, Virginia.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
