- Operate heavy equipment including large excavators, bulldozers, and loaders.
- Excavate for new construction basements, foundations, and site development.
- Read and interpret blueprints and elevation plans.
- Perform grade work and surveying.
- Handle final excavation and installation of water/sewer lines.
- Manage a crew of 2+ people and run projects independently.
- 3+ years experience in operating large excavators and bulldozers.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints.
- Ability to dig basements and foundations independently.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of Dane County.
- Experience with various heavy equipment such as dozers, backhoes, forklifts, skid steers.
- Operator certification.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.

Job Description
The role involves operating heavy equipment such as large excavators, bulldozers, and loaders for an excavating company. You will be working on construction sites, preparing for new construction basements, foundations, and site development. The position requires reading blueprints and understanding elevations, grade work, surveying, final excavating, and installing water/sewer lines.

Work Environment
Work on commercial jobsites in various weather conditions, from hot to cold and rainy. Be part of a small family-owned business with a team of 12-14 employees and project crews of 2-4. The dress code requires steel toe footwear, and the working hours are 6:00 am to 5:00 pm during summer. Start at the shop and proceed to the job site. Personal hand tools are required, while PPE, including vests, is provided.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
