Job Description

- Operate asphalt patching truck.
- Make repairs to asphalt pavements using hot mix from the Pro Patch asphalt machine.
- Operate light equipment to maintain road rights-of-way, such as pickup trucks with trailers, dump trucks, jackhammers, compactors, and other related equipment.
- Operate hand and power tools.
- Perform minor operator related maintenance on related equipment.
- May be required to perform labor duties, such as lay sod, shovel, and/or raking duties.
- Haul road materials to job sites and stockpile operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Requires any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and one year of experience operating and/or maintaining construction equipment, mechanical devices, asphalt patch trucks and equipment, dump trucks, and/or light trucks.
- Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Learners Permit and an acceptable driving record at time of offer with the ability to obtain a valid Class B CDL with Air Brakes endorsement within six (6) months of hire date is required.
- Must be able to pass IMOT Training within 6 months of hire or employment may end.
- This is a Safety-Sensitive position subject to Drug and Alcohol Workplace Testing as provided in DOT regulation 49 CFR-Parts 40 and/or 382.
- Ability to pick up, push, pull or move a 50 pound object. Objects may consist of tools, equipment, or materials used in the operations of day-to-day activities.
- Skill in operating chainsaws and other light equipment.
- Knowledge of traffic regulations and the skill to set up a safe work zone.
- Knowledge of construction equipment safety.
- Ability to interact with the public in a professional manner.
- Able to stand, crawl, sit or kneel for long periods of time throughout the day.
- Sufficient physical stamina to perform related common labor duties.
- Prefer knowledge of front-end loader operations.
- Ability to work long hours outdoors and in all types of weather, including extreme temperatures.
- The work days and hours are Tuesday - Friday 7:00 AM-5:30PM with the ability to work flexible hours under emergency situations.
The primary duties of this position requires operation of asphalt patch truck-daily. Operation of asphalt compactor-daily. Raking of asphalt daily. Operation of attenuator truck-weekly. Operation of dump truck, occasionally. Use of hand power tools to include cut off saws, jack hammers and other equipment as needed. Will assist other crews on an as needed basis.About the company
