      ️ What You’ll Do as a Heavy Equipment Technician:

      As a Cat Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Caterpillar diesel-powered machines used in construction and industrial environments. This role supports equipment uptime and reliability in the shop or in the field, ensuring our customers can keep working. Responsibilities include:

      • Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on heavy and light construction equipment
      • Set up new machinery and install replacement parts as needed
      • Troubleshoot complex hydraulic, fuel, electrical, and mechanical systems
      • Work in-shop or travel to customer locations in a company-provided field service truck
      • Collaborate with mentors or work independently, depending on experience level
      • Use Cat ET and other diagnostic software tools

      Requirements:

      • Must own proper tools to perform necessary repairs
      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • Must pass standard physical
      • Working knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, electrical, and fuel systems
      • Experience as a diesel mechanic or similar background, including military training, preferred
      • Ability to demonstrate diagnostic, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills

      Strongly Preferred Experience:

      • Welding and fabrication: MIG, arc welding, gouging, and torch cutting
      • Experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, and motors
      • Familiarity with Cat ET or other diagnostic software systems
      • Construction equipment service training through accredited programs, dealerships, or manufacturer certifications
