- Req#: 103670
- Building partnerships across Treasury to understand upcoming business and any accounting volatility implications
- Managing volatility through an understanding of available risk and available hedge accounting approaches
- Optimally performing hedge accounting through identification, documentation, effectiveness testing and accounting for bespoke hedge accounting packages
- Bringing to life the hedge accounting impact in GCT management reporting and the Group’s statutory reporting
- Demonstrating compliance within the Group’s various risk frameworks, accounting requirements and to other interested parties (e.g. external audit)
- Continuously challenging the work we perform to ensure that we are doing our best to help Britain recover
- Good knowledge of risk, banking products and the accounting for financial instruments
- Strong understanding of IAS 39, especially hedge accounting rules and application
- Willingness to proactively interact with other areas of finance and the business to communicate issues impacting other areas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Qualified accountant
- Intermediate/Advanced Excel

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in London Gresham Street
About this opportunity
We have an opportunity for an experienced Associate Director to join our Banking Volatility Management team working in Group Corporate Treasury.
To be at your best you will need a strong understanding of hedge accounting, vanilla interest rate products, financial control and be confident in interacting with different stakeholders. This team are often tasked with explaining complex concepts in a simple manner, so the ability to deliver impactful and concise messages would be a great skill to have.
The team comprises of 10 members working on various aspects of hedge accounting, P&L reporting, micro and macro hedge accounting models, one-off transactions and controls.
