  Instruct students of all ability levels in assigned FCS courses using the District curriculum.
  Conducts work in a manner that demonstrates a commitment to high levels of professional practice and conduct.
  Effectively plan and prepare instructional lessons and supports that include best practices in engaging and addressing the learning needs of all students.
  Work to further develop the curriculum and seek innovative, engaging and motivating instructional approaches.
  Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction, by using a variety of styles, and inspire mixed culture and ability classes by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
  Function as a collaborative and contributing team member within the FCS staff.
  Frequently communicate with students, parents, counselors and administrators regarding student progress and other related matters.
  Monitor, assess and report student progress toward learning targets and curriculum.
  Maintains a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
  Implements useful progress monitoring assessment measures.
  Effectively uses multiple forms of assessment and progress data to plan/guide instruction and inform the learner.
  Establishes a cooperative relationship with all students.
  Fosters a sense of appreciation and enthusiasm for the content area.
  Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job-related knowledge and skill development.
  Complies with all policies and procedures of the District.
  Contributes and participates in efforts related to school and district goals.

  Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
  Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
  Ability to appropriately integrate technology within instruction.

  Michigan Certification and Qualified status in secondary Family & Consumer Science (KH).
  Certified and qualified to teach other content areas (preferred).
  Experience or demonstrated expertise in effective FCS instruction.
  Experience working in a High School environment (preferred).
  Interest / ability to lead or contribute to extra-curricular activities (preferred).
  Knowledge of International Baccalaureate (preferred).
  Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with a focus on student learning.
  Demonstrate an understanding of working with standards.

  Position: High School Family & Consumer Science Teacher
  Effective 2025-26 School Year
  
  Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' skills and competence in secondary Family & Consumer Science (KH).
  
  Essential Functions:

  Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
