      Our summer’s hands-on, interactive internship will prepare the next generation of leaders by exposing them to careers they are interested in pursuing, as well as tools and mindsets they can leverage throughout their lives that will ultimately accelerate them towards their individual goals.

      UnitedHealth Group's Unified High School Internship Experience is a six to eight-week paid internship exposure program where students have an opportunity to work on current health care related challenges that we as an organization are fighting daily to solve.

      Each intern will learn from health care professionals that have had successful careers in Information Technology, User Experience, Product Management, Finance, Human Resource, and Business.

      If you are located in Raleigh, NC; Basking Ridge, NJ; Cypress, CA, Eden Prairie, MN, District of Columbia, Texas and Georgia, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Create hypotheses for project
      • Organize and manage team project plan
      • Design empathy maps based on hypotheses
      • Conduct interviews with friends, family and employees
      • Implement targeted marketing and communications
      • Generate an implementation budget
      • Develop a working prototype of project
      • Present a collaborative project to industry leaders during the Rapid Innovation Sessions throughout your summer internship (up to three times). During these sessions, you’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you advice and direction on next steps that will help you and your team elevate your project.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Be in the high school graduating class of 2024, 2025 and 2026
      • Authorized to work in the US
      • Meet all requirements listed on the UnitedHealth Group application form, including submission of the applicants resume.
      • Provide to UnitedHealth Group a copy of your Work Permit upon offer acceptance
      • Be able to work from June 17th – July 26th Monday – Friday (9am – 4pm) and Friday’s (9am – 12PM)
      • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment -based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require visa sponsorship, TN visa holders, current H-1B visa holders, and/or those requiring green card sponsorship will not be considered.

      California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $16.00 to $20.05 per hour.
