    • Implementing state learning standards and Deering curricula and assessments to give all students access to rigorous and engaging grade-level work.

    • Ability to teach with cultural humility, through questioning deeply held beliefs and viewpoints, grappling with conflicting perspectives, considering contextualization and causation, developing a sense of chronology, and engaging in decolonization.
    • Willingness and ability to use technology to teach and communicate with students and families.
    • Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school based staff, students, parents and community.
    • Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
    • Bachelor's degree in the applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
    • Master Degree preferred.

    • POSITION OVERVIEW: High School Social Studies Teacher - Anticipated Opening at Deering High, 25-26 SY

      Deering is hiring a full-time Social Studies teacher to join our team. We are seeking a Social Studies teacher with a demonstrated commitment to equitable teaching practices, a willingness to collaborate closely with others, and the ability to teach to high standards in a heterogeneous classroom. ESOL certification is a valuable plus.
