- Valid Texas Teacher certificate in Special Education/content certificate for certain assignments or eligible for employment through an Alternative Certification Program (ACP).
- Eligible ACP candidates must also meet ACP requirements and pass TExES examination(s) required for this position.
- Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
- Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee
- Process and IEP goal setting process and implementation
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
