What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage high volume calls and serve as a customer representative for the health information management department and MyChart patient portal
- Perform tier 1 technical support duties for MyChart, including account setup and password resets
- Liaise between the organization and patients, providing information on privacy regulations and policies
- Verify authority of requesters and ensure compliance with HIPAA and state guidelines when releasing health information
- Document and maintain all requests received via phone, fax, and electronic communications in the release of information software
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in health information management, clinical or hospital business office, or comparable experience
- Strong medical terminology knowledge and ability to multi-task in high-stress situations
- Exceptional written, telephonic, and oral communication skills
- Proficient problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Current enrollment in a CAHIIM approved program
- Experience with Epic and/or EMR systems
- AHIMA Certification of RHIT
