Job Description

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of clerical experience required including working with calculations and phone systems.
- Basic experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
- One year of medical record experience required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy preferred.
- Prefer experience with Epic & OnBase
- Strongly prefer RHIT/RHIA
- Ability to troubleshoot/problem solve/investigate system & workflow issues
- Strong written & oral communication skills, act as HIM liaison with other depts and IT
- Ability to train successfully
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
Salary Range: $21.0000 - $32.2900 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Health Information Management Associate III processes health information under the direction of the HIM Manager or designated supervisor which includes but is not limited to pick-up of discharged patient records from nursing units; prepping/scanning/indexing documents in the EMR. Answers telephone and responds according to department policy. Keeps supervisor informed of issues/concerns that may arise. Seeks out additional tasks when assigned work is completed; provides backup coverage for other positions in the HIM department. Meets quality and/or productivity expectations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional duties may include accurately analyze records for deficiencies; manage all aspects of the clerical transcription process; works various work queues in the EMR; physician suspension; release of information; Master Patient Index management.
