Job SummaryWelcome to Pre-Admission Testing!
PAT is a small but mighty team-oriented department. We prepare patients for elective surgeries or invasive procedures by obtaining thorough medical histories via intake calls or in-person interviews. Patient population includes all ages, pediatrics to geriatrics. We evaluate the patient’s medical history and surgical/procedural plan using PAT anesthesia protocols. Team members collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a safe and timely surgery/procedure with optimal outcomes. We provide professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.
Hours:
Monday-Friday, n o weekends or holidays. (Hours variable between 0730-1730)
Positions currently available are:
2 FT positions
Required Skills:
-2+ years Medical / surgical nursing experience – solid knowledge of medical/ surgical disease process and medications.
-Ability to work independently with limited guidance
-Exceptional Organizational/Time management/Critical thinking skills
-Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
-BSN requirement within 5 years of date of hire for the ASN candidate
Salary Details:
Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $32.50, max of salary range is $51.00. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.

Required Qualifications- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Require successful completion of annual Orthopedic Education requirements upon hire and then annually as outlined in the Orthopedic Program(s) Education Plan.
Preferred Qualifications- Prefer certification in nursing specialty area.
