      Job Summary

      - Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

      Pre-Op Job Summary:

      To establish criteria for admission, preoperative preparation, and assessment of surgical patients prior to surgical procedure and to ensure patient safety. Provides professional and skilled nursing care to patients in an acute, clinical care environment guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA standards of professional practice. The nurse is responsible for starting and monitoring IVs, administering pre-operative medications, and performing pre-operative instruction.

      Workdays/Shift/Start Time

      Fulltime: M-F, 05:30-14:00 (5:30am-2:00pm)

      Required Qualifications:

      -BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

      - Require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire and maintain throughout employment.

      -BSN requirement within 5 years of date of hire for the ASN candidate

      - Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

      Salary Details:

      Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $32.50, max of salary range is $51.00. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.

      Required Qualifications

      -BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

      - Require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire and maintain throughout employment.
      - Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
      Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
      - Require successful completion of Annual Orthopedic Education Requirements upon hire and then annually as outlined in the Orthopedic Program(s) Education Plan.


      Preferred Qualifications

      - Prefer certification in nursing specialty area.

      FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
