Job Description
- Req#: HISTO004887
- Responsible for all phases of preparation of pathology specimens, including accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, and slide preparation.
- Quality control, quality assurance, instrument maintenance, and technical problem resolution.
- Providing optimal specimen processing with positive outcomes while observing cost containment, privacy, and safety issues.
- Maintains accurate and complete logs, testing records, and resolves discrepancies with relevant staff, prioritizing workflow to maximize productivity goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Completion of an associate degree in Applied Arts/Science or a bachelor’s degree.
- 2+ years of experience in a histology laboratory is strongly preferred.
- American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification, or equivalency, as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL).
- Must have documented training consistent with CLIA 88 requirements for the position held. This is to be reflective of the scope of practice and standards of practice in regular scheduled responsibilities and pay grade meeting all the HCFA-CLIA 88 requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.

Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include:
Salary:
Hiring range, based on experience and credentials: $36.94 - $55.41 per hour.
Workdays: This role is located at Peterkort Centre. This is a per diem position that may become full-time after a four-month re-evaluation period. Evening and night shifts, as well as weekend availability, are highly preferred. The role offers incredible flexibility regarding shift days and work hours.
