  Pay Range: $30.56 - $40.19 per hour

  The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

  Job Overview:

  Under general supervision, the Histology Technologist performs laboratory procedures as required according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures

  Qualifications:

  Required:

  • Associate's degree and HT ASCP or HLT ASCP Certification, or eligible,
  • 2 to 4 years of experience as a Histology Technician and or Histology Technologist

  Scheduling Requirements:

  • Evenings
  • Per Diem
  • Hours vary based on business needs

  Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for embedding, microtomy, and performing general maintenance, which may include handling hazardous materials,
  • Responsible for performing special stains and immunohistochemistry,
  • Must be able to work independently, trouble-shoot specimen or instrument issues, adapt to varying schedules, and support the lab during high-volume periods, or staff absences,
  • Communicate issues to the supervisor or designee
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department,
