- Performs HLA laboratory tests requiring separation of lymphocytes, DNA and sera present in blood and tissue specimens.
- Performs tests and analyses related to clinical medicine or research in the medical sciences.
- Conducts calibration of instruments and equipment in the laboratory.
- Assists in the laboratory training of medical laboratory students and new employees.
- Performs quality control as needed for equipment, reagents and employee proficiency.
- Works on-call for transplant programs.

General Description:
Under general supervision, performs complex professional technical and analytical work in a HLA medical laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree
Experience: One (1) year of experience in a HLA laboratory setting
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: None
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of HLA laboratory principles and techniques. Knowledge of recent developments in HLA laboratory techniques and developments. Skill in conducting a variety of laboratory tests and can work independently. Ability to organize, analyze and evaluate tests in terms of laboratory controls and can replicate analysis. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
