JOB PURPOSE OR MISSION: Plans, organizes and directs patient care. Coordinates care and service delivery, assuring that quality and efficiency are achieved. Monitors and evaluates patient care through a collaborative team approach. Job is performed appropriately for the needs of the age population served, as defined in the department’s scope of service.

JOB FUNCTIONSESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:
1. Assures that the professional, technical, and care needs of the patient are met.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
• Adjusts staffing on respective shift to meet care and service delivery needs on a daily basis.
• Assures staffing meets patient flow and productivity measurement needs.
• Participates with other team members effectively in planning staffing, scheduling, goal setting and problem solving.
• Ensures that staff operates within legal limitations of practice and health care liabilities.
• Combines ethical judgment with technical skills to optimize care and follows department policy and procedure.
• Responds appropriately to critical situations involving patients, physicians, staff and visitors using planned strategies.
• Provides effective communication of these incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Assures availability of respiratory supplies through inventory control.
• Serves as active staff member when needed.
2. Identifies and develops appropriate staff development programs.PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
• Identifies staff development’s needs, at least annually, and plans appropriate in-services or programs to meet those needs.
• Provides learning experiences that are effective in developing staff and maintaining competency and currency with respiratory care modalities.3. Assist in the overall management process.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
• Interviews applicants and makes recommendations for employing or for terminating personnel.
• Assures that all employees are compliant with legal and regulatory and competency standards and/or licensure.
• When applicable, assures that employees are cross-trained within licensing constraints.
4. Performs all other duties as assigned.SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 years’ work experience within an administrative role.HIPAA REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Medical records without limitation both paper and electronic, patient demographics, lab and radiology results, patient information related to surgery or appointment schedules, information related to patient location, religious beliefs, public health records, medical records related to quality/data, patient financial and/or 3rd party billing, patient-related complaints, and/or research information.SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable safety practices appropriate to Job Position including but not limited to: Incident reporting, handling of wastes, sharps and linen, PPE, exposure control plans, hand washing, environment of care, patient identification, validates, transports, monitors or observes patients for procedures including infusion pumps, and monitors clinical alarms.About the company
