HN204 - Full-Time Live-Out Nanny - Montecito, CA
This job is now closed
Job Description
- Req#: 17125
Overview
A loving family in Montecito, CA is seeking a full-time live-out professional nanny for their children as their current nanny is relocating back home. They have 3 children and a 4th on the way: ages 6, 5, 2.5, and a newborn due in late March. The 3 older children are in school/preschool and the baby will have a newborn care specialist for the first 6-months. The schedule will be Monday through Friday 7:30am-5:30pm. The job starts as soon as a great fit is found.
The role is really geared toward being a second pair of "thinking" and proactive hands for the Mother who is a stay-at-home Mother. The Father works outside of the home, but also has a home office and sometimes works from home as well. The eldest child is in 1st grade and attends school from 8:30am-4:30pm; the middle child attends school from 9am-12:50pm but in the Fall will be attending school from 8:30am-3:15pm; the youngest child is in school from 9am-12:50pm and after school comes home and naps from 1:30pm-3:30pm approximately. The children are actively involved in extracurricular activities such as dance, sports, piano, etc. as well as camps in the Summer. The nanny will be a second pair of hands for the Mother so it's not as though the nanny will be doing it all on their own, but the nanny should be prepared to care for the baby when the NCS is gone in the Fall and also care for children when home sick from school. There is no housekeeping or children's laundry for this role; they have housekeepers on staff as well as a personal chef.
It is helpful if the candidate to hire has previously worked in a fully-staffed home and is used to a busy household with multiple young children. Furthermore, the family does travel during the Summer and during some holiday breaks from school so the nanny must be prepared to travel for a few weeks at a time (for example, last year they traveled for 2-3 weeks over Christmas/New Years and most of August). The nanny must be proactive, diligent, great with planning and packing, doesn't need a lot of hand-holding, has "thinking hands", is on their toes, can read a room, understands boundaries (for example: if the Father is working from home, respecting that professional space), has a good imagination, takes initiative when asked to do something and if the nanny doesn't know how (for example, installing a car seat) then speaking up and letting the Mother know so that she can guide accordingly, if given instructions to see the task through (the Mother is not a micro-manager and wants to trust the nanny to do what they needs to do), being confident with the children and interactive, a team-player, able to work around parents who are involved, and inventive about time with children to keep them engaged.
A busy time in the household is from 7:30am-8:30am when the children are getting ready to go to school and being sent off to school. The Mother does the driving so the nanny doesn't need to drive, however, the nanny to hire needs to be a licensed driver with a clean driving record in case of a rare circumstance in which they need to drive. Additional job duties will be assisting with grocery shopping, organizing a playroom, etc. when children are in school and nanny isn't therefore directly overseeing the children during that time and therefore is able to perform other helpful household tasks. Even though there are 2 housekeepers on staff, the nanny to hire must clean up after themselves (for example, if making a smoothie or preparing something for the children, showing the courtesy to the housekeepers by cleaning up after). The nanny to hire must be comfortable around pets as the family has a Bernadoodle puppy (hypoallergenic) and although they have a dog walker for him, there may be times the nanny will be asked to let the dog out as all household members oversee this task as needed.
The family is offering an annual salary of $100k-120k, a monthly contribution of $50 toward a cell phone plan, and they are open to offering either a health-care stipend or health insurance; health insurance would start after 3-months of employment. The family is open to relocating from outside of Santa Barbara, but ideally finding a nanny in the Santa Barbara area would be preferred. The candidate to hire must be comfortable signing an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement).
You must be legal to work in the US and have a US Passport, Green card, or EAC to apply for this role. You must be TrustLine certified. If you are interested in this position, please apply to HN204.
