- Responsible for underwriting new and renewal business up to your agreed authority limits and be responsible for mid-term underwriting of accounts, including appraisals
- Actively seek to round out existing accounts and cross-sell other classes of business.
- Managing underwriting queries via telephone & e-mail
- Be a technical underwriting referral point for Underwriters, Underwriting Assistants and Claims.
- Develop a strong technical understanding of large risk underwriting
- Accountable for the full P&L management of a designated panel of brokers
- Demonstrate a good level of proficiency in the use of the management information systems to be able to understand the data, analyse any trends and report on the underwriting performance
- Carry-out broker management for your broker panel executing any corrective actions needed where KPI's fall behind plan.
- Proactively manage relationships with broker partners.
- Collaborate with the Sales Development Manager in the conversion of New Business, through pre-qualification of target prospects
- Work with the Senior U/W & Operations U/W Manager to ensure all target quotes are monitored and pursued to ensure conversion rates influenced positively
- Ensure all communications with broker partners are collaborative and sales focused to ensure both retention & new business opportunities are maximised
- HNW insurance industry experience essential – preferably from a Motor or Household background.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Well organised with the ability to prioritise workload.

We are recruiting an Underwriter to form a key part of Chubb's High Net Worth Underwriting Team in London. You will be responsible to underwrite new and existing business accounts whilst providing world class service to our broker partners.
The successful candidate will preferably have experience in multiline Household and Motor and will build and maintain strong working relationships externally and internally, managing a panel of brokers in respect of New Business, Retention, Rate, Profit & Loss & mix of business.
