  A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join The This Morning food department as a Home Economist on a part-time basis.
  We are looking for someone with a passion for food and experience working in a live studio environment. The successful candidate will be required to plan, prep and cook for our varied line-up of studio chefs, both in studio and on location. You will be creative and organised, with a flair for stylising recipes and ingredients for our screen cookery items.
  
  As our Home Economist, you will be expected to liaise with our Food Producer ahead of each daily show, to ensure ingredients and recipes are prepared in advance. You must be able to work to changing deadlines and requests, while maintaining a high level of health and safety practices throughout.
  
  Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise and prep cookery items with food producer.
  • Working both prep days and live show days.
  • Acquiring all ingredients and set dressing required for each food item on the show.
  • Liaising with the chefs on a daily basis.
  • Being present during the live show - in both the prep kitchen and the studio.
  • In charge of making sure all the food is cooked and prepared for the show.
  • Cleaning the studio and prep kitchen both before and after filming.
  • Previous knowledge of production hazards and Health & Safety regulations.
    
    
    Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
  • Experience working within a live TV/ studio environment and have an understanding of television production processes.
  • Previous experience as a home economist professionally.
  • Experience establishing a good working relationship with assigned chefs, and the ability to prepare onscreen food to a high standard - both visually, and for tasting.
  • Proven qualities of adaptability and flexibility in coping with rapidly changing circumstances and ability to prioritise and exercise excellent judgement as circumstances change.
  • A high level of organisational and time management skills. Previous knowledge of production hazards and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Qualification: Food Hygiene Level 2
