Job Summary: To supply all departments and Nursing units with medical and general supplies for patient and departmental use.
Essential Job Duties and Performance Expectations:
1. Replenish sub inventories as scheduled while following established procedures.
2. Assist departments on the PAR level system routinely changing levels as product usage changes.
3. Fill and deliver department supply orders at scheduled times.
4. Maintain accurate records of items issued, items received and transferred in stores, keeping inventory adjustments to a minimum.
5. Attach patient charge stickers to chargeable products. Scan the charges into the computer system from the patient label cards, completing on a timely basis.
6. Stock shelves and rotate stock routinely in the Storeroom.
7. Adjust inventory to account for inventory variations, keeping the inventory levels accurate.
8. When answering telephone calls, fill requests and deliver items and document items dispensed.
9. Participate in the Annual Physical Inventory, scheduling workload accordingly. Inventory is June 30th and may require alternate and mandatory hours.
10. Complete in a timely manner, the specific departmental tasks assigned by supervisor, manager or director.
11. Clean the sub carts (exchange carts) as assigned.
12. Demonstrate the ability to set appropriate work priorities.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Must be able to read, write, and follow written and oral directions.
High school diploma/GED required.
Experience in Materials Handling/Warehousing preferred. Healthcare environment a plus.
Must be able to communicate clearly with other members of the healthcare team, customers and guests.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able and willing to drive a Box Truck.
Judgement:
Work is performed with a minimum amount of supervision. The Stores Specialist must maintain organization and order under various levels of deadlines, be able to relate and deal diplomatically with people at all levels of the organization and be able to perform repetitive tasks, work at a quick pace when pressured in emergencies and keep information confidential.
