      Hotline & Volunteer Supervisor - Grant

      Breast Cancer Program

      JOB SUMMARY:

      This position is hybrid (two days on site and three days remote, each week). This position is responsible for oversight of Breast Cancer Hotline and Volunteer Program. Provide licensed counseling to women, men and families coping with Breast Cancer. Facilitate English language support groups for individuals coping with Breast Cancer. Consult with health care providers to include our Peer-to-Peer program with area hospitals. Supervision of Special Project Coordinator, Social Worker and/or social work intern(s).This is a grant funded position.

      SALARY INFORMATION:

      In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $69,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

      REPORTS TO: Assistant Director, Breast Cancer Program

      RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

      1. Oversight of Hotline services, including scheduling hotline shifts, evaluation and statewide outreach.

      2. Oversight of Volunteer program, including recruitment, training, supervision and bi-annual celebratory events.

      3. Provide psychosocial support to clients on site at area hospitals and at the Program.

      4. Facilitate English language support groups, and survivorship programming (Warriors Book Club, Exercise Classes, etc.).

      5. Collaborate with community agencies and area hospitals.

      6. Develop and manage relationships with libraries, legislative offices, and community partners in order to attend outreach events to raise awareness for the program.

      7. Task supervision of the Special Project Coordinator with the development of health videos.

      8. Assist in the planning and evaluation of educational forums.

      9. Supervise social work intern(s).

      10. On-call nights and weekends for Hotline crisis intervention.

      11. Participate and attend program, community and fundraising events.

      12. Complete session notes and grant reports.

      13. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

      REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

      1. Strong clinical skills.

      2. Strong leadership skills to work well with volunteers, staff and clients.

      3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

      4. Ability to supervise others effectively.

      5. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

      6. Ability to facilitate team building.

      7. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Internet and Email.

      8. Must possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle.

      EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

      1. MSW and LMSW is required.

      2. Five years of job-related experience is required.

      POSITION(S) SUPERVISED:

      1. Task supervision of Special Projects Coordinator.

      2. Social Work Interns.
