      Position Summary

      The Housekeeping Manager reports to the Sr. Operations Manager and AGM and is responsible for the hiring, training and oversight of a staff of housekeepers who ensure the execution of custodial operations across Chartway Arena and SB Ballard Stadium. Insures an effective and cost efficient program by controlling the housekeeping budget, and performs related day to day responsibilities as required as well as inventory control and quality assurance.

      This role pays an annual salary of $44,000-$50,000

      Responsibilities

      • Hands on position that ensures the venue is cleaned daily and post event including overnights
      • Oversee and Assists in the overall daily cleaning of the facilities
      • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for all post event cleans; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures
      • Oversees the performance of a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacing light bulbs, window cleaning and restocking of bathroom and other supplies
      • Maintains all types of cleaning machinery and equipment in good and safe working order
      • Proactively use all safety mandates and teach others safety protocols
      • Select, train, motivate and evaluate staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures
      • Conducts daily walkthroughs of entire complex to ensure cleanliness and identify areas in need of improvement or repair. Ensures the prompt correction of all deficits identified during these walkthroughs
      • Trains staff in and ensures proper use and handling of cleaning products, chemicals, supplies and equipment throughout the arena
      • Coordinate labor hours for staff. Report labor allocations to Director of Finance
      • Promote a safe and efficient work environment
      • Be available for event support, as needed

      • Assisting other departments as assignedincluding Director of Maintenance
      • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
      • Perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving, walking extensively throughout the building, working from various heights, and around moderate to loud noises

      Qualifications

      • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisor position in arena, convention center or public assembly facility with knowledge of housekeeping
      • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university in a related field (Facility Management, Engineering, Sports Management, etc.) preferred; High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
      • Excellent safety record and work ethic
      • Must be able to lift 50lbs or more on a regular basis
      • Ability to work long hours and varied schedules
      • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
      • Ability to prioritize tasks in the most productive and/or appropriate manner
      • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility
      • Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility
      • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form
      • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
      • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results
      • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, patrons and others
      • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
