- Cleans, polishes assigned areas, cleans and waxes various floor surfaces, collects and removes trash and recyclable items and deposits to designated area.
- May be required to dispose of biochemical waste in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Operates light power equipment and performs preventive maintenance on equipment; e.g., ensures vacuum cleaner bags are emptied regularly.
- Maintains adequate stock of supplies in bathrooms and storage areas.
- Assigned to clean and disinfect surgical, procedural, and specialized areas such as Sterile Processing.
- Responsible for transporting waste to central waste depository and packaging biohazardous and biochemical waste to OSHA and DOT standards.
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous environmental services or custodial experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50-75 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.

Environmental Services Technician II personnel have the shared responsibility to help stop HAIs, bacteria and viruses from spreading and make a difference in every patient and healthcare workers lives.
