      Benton County is looking for a Housing Navigator to support families and individuals in their transition from homelessness to housing stability. This position will directly support participants of Benton County’s newly developing Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool, an innovative program to coordinate a system of care that fully addresses the unique and complex needs and barriers of people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

      JOB SUMMARY
      The Housing Navigator will be part of a diverse team, including Health Department staff and community organizations serving populations experiencing unsheltered homelessness, to create and support a person-centered housing action plan for people enrolled in Benton County’s Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool. The position is located within the Health Department.

      Core functions include:
      • Help support program participants move into housing and provide housing retention services to ensure successful retention of housing over time.
      • Work creatively and collaboratively with property owners/managers and case management services to prevent eviction and housing-related issues that could jeopardize the housing stability of program participants.
      • Provide onsite services to program participants living in scattered-site settings throughout Benton County.
      • Work closely with staff and services that accompany participants from referring community partners to fill gaps or act as the primary housing navigator when needed.

      • Limited Duration through June 30, 2025: While further funding is a possibility, this position is a limited-duration position that is limited to the duration of the grant or funding source, or the duration required to complete the project assigned to the position which lasts no more than two years.

        Annual salary range of:
        • $41,346 - $54,252

        MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for Program Specialist (PS21)
        The following minimum qualifications are REQUIRED for this position:
        • 1 year of education or technical training beyond High School related to Public or Community Health; AND
        • 1 year of work experience related to the area of assignment (i.e., Public Health, Education, Community Outreach, Health Services, Health Navigation)
        - OR -

        • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Community Health or related field; AND
        • 6 months of work experience related to the area of assignment (i.e., Public Health, Education, Community Outreach, Health Services, Health Navigation)
        An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least six months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent. Another example of equivalency would be 2 years of related work experience and a high school diploma or GED.

        Special Requirements:

        The Ideal Candidate
        • Has a Community Health Worker certificate.
        • Has knowledge and experience connecting with community and social services in Benton, specifically housing-related services and resources.
        • Has a strong understanding of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and how to center these principles in all elements of public service work.
        • Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish as this position may have regular contact with community members who speak Spanish.
