      Job summary

      We are looking for suitably experienced Dietitians to work in a newly created 0.8 post (30 hours) mixing HPB oncology and lower GI Surgery specialist areas. You will be working within the Oncology and Gastro, Renal & Hepatology Specialist teams.

      You will be well supported by Senior Oncology and Gastro Dietitians and be involved in providing a service to all patients across the whole pathway, for HPB this includes inpatients and outpatients and all modes of treatment; chemotherapy / immunotherapy / major cancer surgery. For the lower GI service this includes a specialist gastro surgery clinic and input to a lower GI ward.

      Main duties of the job

      To act as part of the Dietetic Team and in conjunction with the Oncology / Gastroenterology Team, streamlining service and care regionally, where appropriate, in conjunction with the Band 7 and Band 8a Dietitians at Addenbrooke's and other external Units / agencies as appropriate.

      To work within a multi-professional framework and contribute to a first-class service through evidence-based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit.

      To set and work towards individual and team objectives that reflect corporate plans and work within the clinical governance framework.

      We are a large and growing dietetic team as we plan and prepare for the development of our new Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital.https://www.cambridgecancer.org.uk/our-hospital/

      Our Dietetic Team of over 100 Dietitians covers a range of specialities including Cancer, Critical Care, Neurosurgery, Hepatology, Renal, Organ Transplants, Gastroenterology, Paediatrics, Diabetes, Cardiology and Obesity. We have a very active social committee and EDI group and regularly hold social events both inside and outside the hospital. In addition, the Trust also has social fitness centre on site.

      Our Oncology specialist MDTs are very inclusive and supportive and we have a strong presence within them.

      This is an onsite, clinical post at CUH. The department operates over the hours of 9-5 although there may be opportunities for some flexible working.

      We would consider to explore this position as a progression post for a suitably qualified Band 5 looking to develop towards a Band 6 within Oncology Dietetics. Please consider applying if you have experience at Band 5 level and would like to be considered, should this opportunity arise. However, this does not guarantee you will be shortlisted to interview in the event of large application numbers at Band 6.

      The Department has a thriving and well regarded Research Group and has supported staff with post graduate qualifications, offering junior staff or those new to research guidance and support in research skills development.
