- Contributes to operational excellence in HR by efficiently and accurately executing processes related to payroll, HR compliance, absence management, benefits administration, and employee data management.
- Provides an excellent service experience in all employee and leader facing consultancy.
- Requires expertise in overall HR operational processes. Supports the identification, assessment, and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support to local management on all employee relations matters as well as HR processes. Gathering and reporting of HR operational metrics.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or currently working toward Level 7 certification), demonstrating a proactive approach to professional development
- Significant experience in HR roles with increasing responsibility
- A strong grasp of employment law, performance management, and employee relations
- Practical involvement in strategic HR initiatives or organisational change
- A commitment to growing your HR expertise through hands-on experience or alternative development routes
- Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.
- Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods, channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
- Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Employee Relations: Knowledge of the rights and obligations in the employee relations; ability to adhere to legal requirements when handling employee negotiations.
- HR: Policies, Standards and Procedures: Knowledge of human resource function; ability to uphold the organization's and industry's standards, procedures and policies regarding human resources management.
- Human Resources Consulting: Knowledge of HR approaches, tools and techniques; ability to inform, guide and advise managers in HR-related initiatives.
- Human Resources Operations: Knowledge of human resources (HR) policies, operational processes and considerations; ability to implement HR related tasks, processes, and projects to ensure that day-to-day operations run smoothly.
- HR Expertise and Legal Acumen A top candidate should possess a strong foundation in human resources practices, with a well-rounded understanding of UK employment law. They will confidently advise on legal compliance, ensure fair and consistent policy application, and bring experience in handling sensitive employee information with discretion. Familiarity with GDPR and data protection principles is essential, demonstrating a commitment to ethical and lawful HR operations.
- Multinational HR experience Demonstrated ability to operate across diverse geographies and cultural contexts, contributing to HR strategies in global or regional environments. Brings a nuanced understanding of international employment practices, compliance requirements, and cross-border collaboration, fostering cohesion in globally dispersed teams.
- Employee Relations and Stakeholder Engagement Exceptional communication skills are vital for success in this role. The ideal candidate will build trust and rapport across various levels of the organization—from senior leaders to frontline employees. Their ability to navigate employee relations effectively, contribute to conflict resolution, and maintain collaborative working relationships will be a key driver of team cohesion and workplace culture.
- Administrative Competence and Time Management A high-performing candidate will demonstrate strong administrative capabilities, including proficiency with HR systems and processes. They’ll be adept at managing multiple priorities under pressure, showing resilience and a clear strategy for balancing workload. Experience with platforms like Workday is especially valuable, allowing them to navigate and utilize HRIS tools efficiently.
- Policy Guidance and Process Advisory This individual should bring confidence and clarity when advising on internal policies and procedures. Their skill in interpreting and applying HR guidelines ensures consistency across the organization, particularly in scenarios that require careful judgement and alignment with best practices. They will serve as a knowledgeable resource for both managers and employees.
- Analytical Thinking and HR Metrics Usage The candidate must be comfortable working with HR data to guide decision-making. They should know how to interpret key HR metrics and translate findings into actionable insights that support leadership through strategic workforce planning and employee development.
- Performance Management and Development Support Experience in supporting performance cycles, advising on development plans, and coaching managers through constructive feedback is critical. A top candidate will have a proactive approach to identifying growth opportunities and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Contribution to Regional HR Initiatives Ideally, the candidate will have prior experience working on HR projects across the EAME region (Europe, Africa, Middle East). Their ability to lead or contribute to multi-country HR initiatives demonstrates adaptability, cultural awareness, and the capacity to drive impact across diverse teams.

The Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Advisor to work in our Cat Financial office located in Solihull, UK. This role involves close collaboration with local management, acting as a trusted partner and consultant on a wide range of HR-related requests, processes and general HR administration. The position supports our teams located in the UK, as well as smaller teams in the Netherlands, and Ireland.
The HR Advisor is a member of an EAME wide team of HR Generalists reporting into the EAME HR Manager for Caterpillar Financial. There are opportunities for EAME wide projects and learning opportunities.

Salary: £33,566.00 - £43,636.00 (Dependent on experience)
Contract: Fixed Term, 14 months assignment
Hours: In office Monday - Friday, full time 37.5 hours.
