      We’re looking for a

      HR Advisor

      Location: based at Head Office


      With over 2,100 colleagues spread across six sites, Stagecoach Manchester is one of the country’s biggest bus operators. We’re looking for a HR Advisor to join the team to help us take the business forward and ensuring we are an employer of choice across Greater Manchester.


      The role of the HR Advisor is to support the local depot teams in ensuring that the policies and procedures are adhered to. This role will focus upon the well-being, health and safety, support and people management of Stagecoach Manchester employees. You should also have an understanding of TUPE and franchising legislation to assist the Personnel Manager and the Senior Leadership Team.

      Key tasks include:

      • To co-ordinate and be responsible for the process relating to Disciplines, Appeals, Disputes and Grievances in accordance with the company’s agreements and procedures, providing professional advice to the Depot. Attend the meetings and take notes which will be produced in a timely manner.
      • To provide professional guidance and support to all Operations and Engineering Managers with HR issues.
      • To assist employees in resolving ad hoc issues.
      • To keep updated and implement any new systems, i.e. Workday, EP Morris.
      • To use Workday to advertise all vacancies as required
      • Supporting and advising the local depot teams when managing absences, conduct and performance issues.
      • Keeping up to date with changes in employment law and company policy, communicating changes to the local depot teams as and when required.
      • To regularly update, or draft new job description(s) and personal specification(s) for any roles within the business.
      • Assist with the mobilisation/demobilisation following the franchise and TUPE of employees.
      • To be available and prepared to travel and work in any of the Manchester depots as required.

      The ideal candidate will already have experience of a busy HR function and will already have, level 3 CIPD qualified as a minimum, ideally Level 5 or working towards.

      The successful candidate will be required to travel between depots therefore access to their own transport and preferably a clean car driving licence will be required. Must have TUPE and franchising knowledge.
