      POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinate all functions associated with employee certification for the Division of Human Resources and adhering to the state of Georgia bylaws regarding certification requirements, policies, and procedures. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the certification process (initial, renewal, upgrade, alternative) for certificated employees. Track newly hired educators to assist with completing all aspects of Georgia certification. Provide consultation to principals, division, and department heads regarding certification requirements. Provide excellent customer service to telephone calls, emails, and in-person appointments. Assist with ensuring that all certificate data is processed and entered accurately. Serve as the district liaison to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Assist with job fairs and other events to inform educators of certification requirements. Assist with updating and maintaining records for Certified/Classified Personnel Information (CPI) as needed. All other duties, as assigned and required, to perform the above services. JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Two years administrative experience at a mid-professional level. Make decisions and recommendations which affect the activities of others. Ability to exercise independent judgment, troubleshoot, and solve problems; ability to work accurately with employee data and records. Ability to communicate with others effectively and tactfully. Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively with internal customers. Two years of supervisory experience at a mid-professional level preferred. Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office required and knowledge of Munis preferred. This position is a 225 days/8 hours/grade 23 position
